I must confess, I'm starting to become addicted to the videos from @wesingyourtweet. Not only is the concept funny and well executed, but they're actually good musicians and have great voices.
Nothing celebrates the birth of Jesus like a robot helicopter banging out a pre-8-bit quality "Jingle Bells". Aaahhh, progress!
Asian pop-star Yoari and some folks who call themselves the iBand (for obvious reasons) have artfully (I can't believe I'm saying this) executed Beyonce's "Sweet Dream" in this display of how Asians with the latest technology can pretty much belittle all the efforts of humanity over the last 5,000 years.
It's tough being merely mortal and using my iPhone and iPad for normal functions. I'd like to say that I at least can come up with a better name for their band. But... well, I can't!
"Social media-savvy band Arcade Fire knocked our socks off earlier this year with a three-way marriage of music, video and HTML5," says Mashable in a review of this awesome experimental treatment of a music video.
Highly interactive and highly personal, the site uses the Google Maps API and the all-new HTML5 spec to great effect. By showing users a Google Street View image of their childhood home from a few different angles, in a handful of constantly resizing browser windows, the site truly challenges the viewer’s expectations of what the intersection between music and technology should hold.
Check out the Youtube video of the music video above. Or, experience it fully yourself at http://thewildernessdowntown.com.
In my mind, this is another example of how HTML5 soon will help Apple make Flash irrelevant.
